14A – Halfway Reflection
1) Some behaviors that I have developed to keep up with the requirements of this course is just planning and organizing and then making sure I stick to it. I utilize my planner a lot more than I have in the past. I basically preplan the week out and try to work on this course the same two days each week, developing consistency.
2) A remember a couple of weeks ago I had over 15 assignments due that week and two exams. I felt so overwhelmed and had just gotten a bad grade on an exam the week before so I felt defeated. I then remembered how far I have come, and how I wasn’t going to throw it all away because of one bad test score, and one week of an overload of assignments. I had a couple long nights, but I pushed through thinking of the end goal—my bachelor’s degree. I do feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude over these last two months because I got into my “dream” school. Before I wasn’t really taking college that seriously, but now that I am attending UF I am studying a lot more and putting forth a lot more effort, especially in planning, organizing, and note taking.
3) Three tips I would give to the next semester of students taking this course is buy a planner. Organize and plan out your week, each week, and make sure you a give yourself enough time for each task. To develop that tenacious behavior, do not procrastinate, and do not try to cram. Watch the lecture videos, take notes, and learn the material at a normal pace not all in one day. Don’t cram right before a test or try to complete all assignments the morning that they’re due. Take the time to learn and retain that information so you can utilize it in your future career.
Good work Kaylee! I loved reading through your suggestions for next semesters students. I think you did a great job outlining the behaviors a student should go through taking this course. I agree that time management is the most important aspect and as long as you stay on top of your assignments you will succeed!
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to read your post and the different behaviors you have developed during the semester. I have definitely procrastinated here and there for this class, especially since there are very many assignments to complete relative to every other class I have taken in college. The mid-day deadlines have thrown me off, so organizing and trying to get things done well in advance has helped. I wish I could just do the rest of the course now, but the assignment locks, and requirement to respond to other student posts prevents that from being feasible.
ReplyDeleteHello Kaylee,
ReplyDeleteI think you did an excellent job on this assignment and I can tell you have grown as an entrepreneur since the start of this class, even though i think you may have already had a knack for this even before you began. the ideas you bring up are thought provoking as well as interesting and i enjoy being able to read your work each week. Please keep up the good work because I think through the review process I have also been able to grow.
