19A – Idea Napkin No. 2


1)    I am really hardworking and skilled at multitasking. I have been a restaurant manager for a few years now and have worked in customer service for over a decade. My aspirations are to be successful in whatever I do and raise wonderful children. As far as this business goes, I would see it becoming successful and it being something that I enjoy doing. I would be able to work mostly from home to spend time with my family.
2)    I am offering a customizable monthly subscription box. It solves the unmet need that others may have when it comes to other subscription boxed, in getting unwanted items.
3)    I am offering it to everyone. The demographic characteristics I envision my customers are still mostly young women. These women have in common the desire and want to shop and get all the new latest trends, and many of them already belong to a subscription box.
4)    The reason why these customers will care and want to pay money for my services is because they can choose every item they’re receiving in their box, unlike other boxes where they may get one or several items that they will never utilize.
5)    The thing that sets me apart from everyone else is that my subscription box is completely customizable and offers a wide variety of products. That is something no other subscription boxes have.

I think that all of these elements all work perfectly together and will lead to a successful business.

Two main points that I took away from the feedback I received was that I need to figure out how to make a completely customizable box profitable, and also how to combat financial disadvantages. I thought those through and did incorporate those into this idea napkin. The solution to those is getting companies on board that are excited to have consumers try their products, most of them may be just starting up themselves so they even do it for free. They’re interested in using my subscription over others because they will be having consumers selecting their product, meaning that consumer is showing interest in that product and wanting to try it. This, in return, will give them repeat customers.

    I enjoyed reading your assignments. I think that your customizeable box could definitely be profitable, especially if you could partner with the distributors of the types of products that you intend to include in the box. I think that your skillset and mindset would go a long way in an entrepreneurial venture, and subscriptions and recurring revenue are super hot topics in business and finance right now.

    As usual, another great post. It seems that you have great self awareness that allows you to hone your skills and utilize them to the fullest potential. I have voiced my opinion that I believe that if you target your customers through social media your idea will have great success. Good work!
